Black Pagoda Lipstick Plant

Aeschynanthus longicaulis

Care Guide

  • Medium to bright indirect sun. It can tolerate a little bit of direct sunlight, but limit to no more than an hour or two. If foliage shows signs of burning, prevent it from getting any direct sunlight.

  • These plants like to dry out between waterings, only water once the soil is mostly dry. Once every 2 weeks seems to work well.

  • Anywhere from 65-80F is acceptable, but no lower than 55F.

  • These plants don’t have specific humidity requirements, and will do well in low - medium humidity. They thrive in typical ambient household humidity (45-55%)

  • Since they like to dry out between waterings, a chunky, well draining aroid mix works best. This provides the roots plenty of air while preventing water from collecting around the roots.

  • Black pagoda lipstick plants are non-toxic for both pets and people!
