Monstera adansonii
Care Guide
-
Medium to bright indirect. In their natural environment these plants grow under the cover of large trees in the jungle, so their foliage can easily burn if it's exposed to too much direct sun. Limit any direct sun exposure to 2-3 hours maximum.
-
Monstera adansonii like moisture - keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Consistency is key with watering these plants, and 1-2 times a week usually works well. Adjust your watering schedule as needed to keep the soil moist.
-
Monstera adansonii prefers the warmer end of a temperature range of 65-80F, and cannot tolerate temps below 55F.
-
They will thrive in medium to high humidity, will do just fine in average household humidity (50-65%)
-
They need a well draining aroid mix that retains moisture. Need to be repotted once you see roots start poking out from the bottom.
-
As with all aroids, these plants are mildly toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Their tissues contain insoluble calcium oxalates, which can cause vomiting, nausea, and mouth irritation.
